Ocho Rios , Jamaica , Beachfront Condominium Resort

Nestled between luxuriant hillside gardens and the glistening turquoise waters of the Caribbean, this modern-day Garden of Eden promises a veritable taste of paradise.

The name Ocho Rios, literally translated from the Spanish, means "Eight Rivers" but it could be a corruption of Las Chorreras — the waterfalls, because waterfalls are perhaps the most striking feature of the area.

Ocho Rios (Jamaica)
The central north coast offers spectacular waterfalls, huge cruise facilities, and all-inclusive resorts on sandy beaches between rocky outcrops. Tour historic plantations, raft on lazy rivers, or visit the scenic mountainous interior. Region includes Runaway Bay and colorful coastal fishing villages. It's a two-hour drive to Montego Bay.

Ocho Rios offers both the glory of one of Jamaica’s best beaches, a pristine stretch of untouched sand on a strip of prime real estate dubbed the Caribbean Riviera, coupled with the luxuriant richness of tumbling hillside Gardens of Eden, filled with streams, fragrant blossoms and botanical marvels. In one unprecedented location you can drink in all of the luscious elements that make Jamaica one of the most glorious and sought-after romantic hideaways in the entire world.

In the last 20 years, Ocho Rios has developed from a small town to a thriving tourist resort. New beach land, hundreds of acres, was dredged to the south and hotels, apartment blocks, shopping centres and a marina were added to the already well-established old hotels like Jamaica Inn and Shaw Park.

Whatever your pleasure, you will find it here in the opulent rooms and suites of Turtle Beach Towers where you can choose to kiss the turquoise sea or live like Adam and Eve in your own version of Eden. Beach lovers can choose to stay on the Caribbean Riviera and step directly out onto the sugar-white sand, facing nothing but sparkling aquamarine water. Those romantic souls in search of their own secluded paradise amongst flowering vines and the perfume of night-blooming jasmine, can opt for one of the Villas of Eden—nestled snugly on hilly perches each with private or semi-private pools and exquisite bird’s eye views of the vivid colors and sparkling landscape of this gorgeous corner of heaven.

My husband and I stayed at the Turtle Towers in May 2004 and were pleasantly surprised. From the outside it did just look like high rise flats but our studio was beautiful, the only drawback was it was on the 10th floor and I hate lifts. The room was light and airy, we had a huge four poster bed widescreen satellite TV and everything we needed for a vacation.

It had a separate kitchen, with a huge fridge, microwave etc and a nice size table perfect for romantic meals. The kitchen was clean. The studio was cleaned and towels changed daily they even washed our dishes!

Turtle towers are centrally located and we were just across the road from island village and the town centre was just a short walk away.

Loved the beach but it just needed to stay open for longer as it closed at 6, there were people trying to sell every possible thing on the beach but once we told them a firm no they didn’t bother us again. But saying that I think this only works when you are on holiday with a man, because I have since been back with my mum and they (people selling things on the beach) wouldn’t leave us alone no matter how much times we told them no.

Turtle towers was good value for money at only £30 or $3000 JA. per night, we had more money to spend on duty free! The staff and the locals were very helpful and friendly so we will definitely be staying there again.
